Well folks it has been awhile since I have posted anything - However a quick little update about what Metis Bee Cabin has been up to - In the past few months my family and I have packed up and moved from our home to another that we are enjoying... It was a wee bit of a roller coaster getting our last house sold but we did it :) Now we are finally settling in to our new home now that the xmas experience has past us by... WHEW... So what are we planning for this bright and beautiful year ahead of us? Well i am glad you ask... :) We will finally be hoping back onto the powwow trail this coming season so keep an eye out for our trappers tent... We will be starting two blogs - 1 for my fun travels across parts of Canada this year (6 weeks - to Alberta) and 2 for the Metis Bee Cabin Blog... Sounds like fun - you got it - it is going to be great - I will keep you posted with what we are up to - Oh an of course - Presentations, Presentations - I will post date / time / location for public seminars... Good Evening Everyone - I was hoping to get a wee bit of support for the Woodland Cultural Centre located in Brantford, Ontario - It is in need of repair and is now being threatened with demolition. The council is seeking community comments to see whether or not this building should be repaired - only 200 comments have been submitted - I fear this may not be enough convince them to keep it. This is one of 2 remaining residential schools in Ontario - It closed back in 1969 and was taken over by the six nations council and converted into a place that offers many wonderful programs - This place is a blood stain of our Canadian history and must always be remembered - The moment this place no longer stands is the moment that our government can possibly say "What residential schools?" - there is a comment card on there website that can be filed out but time is running out as they need all comments submitted in by November 1, 2013. I'm not looking for the comments to be posted on here I thought this would be a start for an outreach of help for this building.....Chi-Miigwech - Tob...... Ps.
