Did you know that Canada’s first official recognized planting of the Marquette grape is in the Municipality of Tweed? 🍇

A lot of paperwork, scientific research documentation and filing expense registered with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and The Canada Border Services almost 20 years ago backs this claim which legally brought the first experimental cuttings of these new grapes to Potter Settlement Artisan Wines Inc. located in Tweed, Ontario from across the U.S border originating at the University of Minnesota - grapes created by the same brilliant, innovative food scientists who also brought you the tasty Honeycrisp Apple! 🍎

Marquette wine grown and made in Tweed, Ontario Hastings County EcD has been now sent out to 32 wine competitions around the globe 🌎.

It came home with 32 medals.

We heard rumors for awhile.

Now the rumor visited our winery.

Municipality of Tweed “ALL CANDIDATES TOWN HALL MEETING EVENT” will be held on Tuesday, September 15th at 6:30 p.m. at Potter Settlement Artisan Wines Inc., 1445 Potter Settlement Road in Tweed.

This event was created with the Central & North Hastings Chamber of Commerce. Shari Pearce of the Chamber will be the event’s moderator. The Tweed News and the Municipality of Tweed have been invited and notified.

The forum for this event HAS CHANGED. The last All Candidates Meeting 4 years ago that was organized by (the now defunct) Tweed Chamber of Commerce in the White Building by the arena unfortunately restricted candidates to only three questions (one question included thoughts on the library). This meeting is DIFFERENT. Democracy is IMPORTANT and voters and candidates SHOULDN’T BE RESTRICTED to three pre-prepared questions like last time! This is an open “town hall” format and is the ONLY time that YOU, the voter, will have a chance to meet and ask the candidates questions in a public town hall forum over concerns and thoughts that are meaningful to YOU.

Thanks to our dear friend Andy Roy we have made an AWESOME acquisition for our winery & vineyard ice skate trail for next winter!

Potter Settlement Artisan Wines Inc. in the Municipality of Tweed and Hastings County EcD just may be one of the only wineries on the planet that now owns a ZAMBONI!

That’s so Canadian! 🇨🇦 ❄️⛸️👊🏻😊

This investment will make better ice and a better skating experience for our guests! Plan to come out next winter to enjoy our ice skating trail!
