toner isn’t made to last forever. but knowing what causes it to fade + our hair to appear warmer, can help prevent our blondes from feeling brassy.

1. excessive washing & heat styling both can cause your toner to fade more quickly. try washing your hair fewer times a week + if you are going to use heat, ALWAYS use heat protectant

2. hard water can causes extra buildup on the hair shaft, which can distort your colour, and leave your hair feeling warmer. if you don’t have a water softener, try using a clarifying shampoo every few weeks

3. UV exposure to the hair can leave it feeling a little more golden than preferred. if you can, keep your hair covered and out of direct sun
