Did you know your body is constantly sending signals, whether you intend it or not?
Confidence isn't just a feeling. It has a posture, a gaze, a way of moving through a room. And the good news is, these are all things you can practice.
Here are a few simple things to pay attention to:
🔹 The ear-shoulder test: How much space is there between your ears and your shoulders? When we're stressed or self-conscious, we tend to hunch and raise our shoulders, shrinking that distance. Dropping your shoulders back and down and standing tall instantly changes how you're perceived and often how you feel.
🔹 Eye contact: Meet people's gaze warmly and hold it just a moment longer than you normally would. It signals that you're present and confident, not distracted or uncertain.
🔹 Your pace: Moving slowly and deliberately rather than rushing or fidgeting communicates calm authority in any situation.
🔹 Open posture: Uncrossed arms, relaxed hands, a small lean toward the person you're with. These tiny adjustments say "I'm here, I'm comfortable, I'm listening."
These aren't just professional tips. They're for every room you walk into. A dinner, a first date, a parent-teacher meeting, a job interview. Confidence is a language, and you can learn to speak it fluently.
What's one small shift you could make today?
