Take copper away. What stops working?

Look around any modern city and copper is working behind the scenes. It carries electricity, transmits signals, and helps connect many of the systems we use every day.

Public transit, traffic lights, street lighting, building electrical systems, telecommunications, data networks, EV charging, and power distribution all rely heavily on copper.

Take copper out, and the buildings may still be there, but many of the systems inside and around them would stop working as designed.

Great geology needs experienced strategic and governance leadership.

For those who may not already know him, we’d like to introduce Patrick Evans, B.A., B.Sc., Independent Chairman of Forte Minerals.

Patrick has spent more than 25 years helping build, finance, and grow mining companies around the world.

His career has taken him from capital markets to boardrooms, leading companies through exploration, development, operations, mergers and acquisitions - always focused on value creation for shareholders.

He has served as CEO of several public mining companies, including Dominion Diamond Mines, Mountain Province Diamonds, Kennady Diamonds, Norsemont Mining, Weda Bay Minerals, Southern Platinum and SouthernEra Resources.

Earlier in his career, Patrick also served as Vice President of Placer Dome, gaining experience within one of the world’s leading mining companies.

Along the way, he led or oversaw several notable transactions, including:

→ Norsemont Mining acquired by Hudbay Minerals
→ Weda Bay Minerals acquired by Eramet
→ Southern Platinum acquired by Lonmin

Today, he also serves as Chairman of Pan Global Resources and has previously been a non-executive director of five other public mining companies.

That depth of experience is exactly why we were excited to welcome Patrick to Forte as Independent Chairman of the Board in October 2025.

As Forte advances its copper and gold portfolio in Peru, his experience strengthens several areas that matter to investors:

Many investors new to the sector ask: what is a “good” gold grade?
Unfortunately, there isn’t one universal answer.

Let’s use 1.0 g/t Au as an example.

That means one gram of gold per metric tonne of rock, or approximately one part per million by mass.

As the g/t increases, so does the amount of gold contained in each tonne of rock. Higher grades can improve economic potential, but grade alone does not determine whether a deposit is economic.

The chart below shows broad illustrative grade ranges for open-pit and underground settings, but they are not universal cut-off grades.

For a large, shallow open-pit system, 1.0 g/t Au may be meaningful.

Real-world examples include:

→ Detour Lake, Canada: 0.75 g/t Au in its open-pit Proven and Probable Mineral Reserve as of December 31, 2024.

→ Tocantinzinho, Brazil: 1.17 g/t Au in its Proven and Probable Mineral Reserve as of December 31, 2025.

For many underground gold operations, 1.0 g/t Au would generally be considered lower grade.

What matters is the broader context, including mining method, width, continuity, recovery, scale and costs.

That is why investors should look beyond the headline grade.

Us checking every outcrop for porphyry-style alteration and veining. 👀

To most people, it may look like just another rock.

To a geologist, it could be one small clue in a much larger hydrothermal system.

The story rarely comes from one feature alone. Geologists look at how several clues fit together:

→ Zoned alteration, from potassic to phyllic and propylitic assemblages
→ Intrusive rocks and their relationship with the host rock
→ Quartz-sulfide veinlets, stockworks, and crosscutting veins
→ Sulfides such as chalcopyrite, bornite, molybdenite, and pyrite
→ Faults, fractures, and breccia zones that may have carried fluids

Weathering can add more clues at surface, including limonite, hematite, copper oxides, and secondary clays.

Put it all together, and geologists can start narrowing in on a possible concealed porphyry centre.

Sometimes, the next target begins with simply looking a little closer.

Meet the geologist and executive leading Forte Minerals.

We welcomed hundreds of new followers in July, so we thought it was a good time to introduce the person behind Forte’s leadership: Patrick Elliott, MSc, MBA.

Patrick’s career started in the field, not the boardroom.

He has spent more than 20 years working in mineral exploration across North and South America and the Former Soviet Union, from remote exploration camps to project evaluations and capital decisions.

Along the way, he contributed to major discoveries and development projects, including the Stibnite Gold Mine in Idaho and the Zafranal Porphyry Copper Deposit in Peru.

Today, that experience shapes how Forte approaches copper and gold exploration in Peru.

Patrick brings:

→ A geologist’s eye for technical detail and disciplined targeting
→ An executive’s understanding of capital, treasury, and long-term planning
→ A people-first approach to working with communities, partners, and shareholders

His leadership is grounded in a few simple principles:

Before a drill ever turns, geologists are already studying the landscape using satellite imagery, drones, and aerial mapping.

These tools help reveal patterns that aren't always visible on the ground, including:

📍 Structural trends that may have guided mineralizing fluids
🟠 Hydrothermal alteration that helps trace mineralizing fluid pathways
🌊 Drainage patterns that help expose underlying geology
🎯 Areas that deserve a closer look in the field

Aerial mapping doesn't find a mineral deposit on its own.

It helps geologists focus their fieldwork, ask better questions, and decide where to sample and, eventually, where to drill.

Sometimes, the first step toward a discovery starts with the view from above.
