Back in 2020,
I found myself sitting alone with more time
than I knew what to do with.
The future felt uncertain.
The life I thought I was building had paused, and suddenly
I was left alone with my thoughts.
What surprised me was what I discovered.
I was always noticing the details:
The way a room feels before guests arrive.
The smell of your dad’s jacket hanging by the door.
The quiet disarray after the party is over.
The last bit of daylight before the streetlights turn on.
What I’ve loved most about atmosphere
isn’t just beautiful spaces,
but the emotions hidden inside them.
The meaning of each chair at a family dinner.
The parking lot where friends meet after midnight.
The drive home after dropping off the last person.
The porch light left on waiting for you to come home.
Candles became my way of holding onto those feelings.
I wanted to create objects that felt like memories.
Things that could sit quietly in your home and
remind you to pay attention to your life
while it is happening.
Because the older I get, the more I realize
life isn’t made up of milestones.
It’s made up of ordinary moments that become
extraordinary in hindsight.
A summer that ended too quickly.
A friendship that changed you.
A city you thought you’d never miss.
A version of yourself you wish you could visit one more time.
A person who still feels like home.
Each candle is an attempt to preserve
those moments for a little longer.
Charged with a feeling, a season, or a memory,
they’re an invitation to slow down, look around,
and notice the life you’re already living.
Whether you’ve been here since the beginning
or you’ve just arrived, welcome.
I’ll leave the light burning.
Stay here as long as you’d like.
