Our first gathering of the People Leaders Lab was a success!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed so openly to the conversation on giving feedback people can hear and apply. It’s not always easy to talk about these things honestly, and it meant a lot to be in a room with people willing to do that.

One question I keep coming back to as a leader:

Is this a feedback moment or a feedforward moment?

Feedback has its place. But for everyday coachable moments, a presentation, a tough conversation, a new skill someone’s building, feedforward is often more powerful. The key is you are not dwelling on what can’t change (potentially deflating the person). You’re arming someone for what’s next.
The key is staying attentive enough to notice when “next time” arrives. That follow-through is what makes the coaching real.

We are delighted to introduce Jem!

She has joined us from BCIT’s Digital Marketing + Brand Strategy program as our Marketing Intern.

Jem took part in planning and implementing our ICBC event at the Vancouver Auto Show and has been busy working behind the scenes supporting our People Leaders Lab Roundtable series. She’s shared thoughtful feedback, helped us organize and produce our socials content, and flexed her design skills in her first half of her internship. We’re loving have her on the team for her candid input and drive to make things better.

Jem embodies our values of kindness, optimism and connection. Grateful to have her on the team. 👏🏻
