While participating in the annual Tourism Challenge with a friend, we visited the Richmond Museum & Art Gallery. The museum wanted us to find two pieces in the exhibit that reminded us of something we treasure with our family. The sewing machine reminded me of our neighbour who ran a Tailor shop out of her apartment. I would hang out with the tailors and play with buttons while they sewed the most amazing dresses. My sister even designed dresses for my birthdays that they would stitch. The other item that caught my eye was the typewriter. We had one in my parents bedroom and the moment I understood how to feed the paper through and click the buttons I would pound away pretending I was an author typing my next big novel 😊. In the Art Gallery there were some nice exhibits but the one thing that I didn’t expect was while trying my hand at origami I had a flashback of my mom making boats out of chewing gum wrappers on our bus rides. I immediately wanted to recreate it. As you can see I was successful and felt very connected to my mom in that moment. Can’t believe how I had forgotten all about it till now. Well there was no time to waste, we were on a mission to collect as many as we could so it was off to the next attraction after that.

Okay so this is my second attempt at the famous Brown Sugar Oat Shaken Espresso. Yesterday I didn’t tell you that I made the brown sugar syrup from scratch too which was quite yummy especially with the added cinnamon sticks and drop of vanilla essence. Any way today I decided to try shaking this concoction in a mason jar as you can see in the pictures and as I learned too I shook it a bit too much and my jar needed to be bigger but it was still fun making. I also tried adding more espresso and realized one shot was more than enough for me. Now this is not something i recommend drinking on a daily basis but it is still a treat. The other thing I have been working on perfecting are Egg McMuffins. They are not my go to, but I know when Jeff is running out the door for a tour which is almost always in the summer time this is the one thing he will eat as it keeps him full till he can have a proper meal, I won’t go in to details here about the other reason why he eats them. Now again the price of these have gone up over the year and I always prefer when we make something at home cause we know exactly what goes into them. I think I’m pretty happy with how these have turned out so far. As you can see it’s another beautiful day in the city and I have the opportunity to visit the Rocky Mountaineer train and station later today. I am looking forward to it, it’s not the first time but I always do enjoy seeing it again. I have a couple of tours booked this year with groups visiting the Rockies and the views from the train as well as the amazing hosts that not only do a wonderful job of taking care of the guests but also are great at story telling along the way. I feel like it’s our very own party train when I’m on it 😊💕🚞

Now let’s agree that dining out or even that coffee to go adds up pretty quickly. So being on a tight budget, I have to remind myself daily to head straight home and not make any stops along the way that would involve spending money. Now l love the Starbucks Brown Sugar Oat Shaken Espresso and was surprised when a friend recently talked about how she makes it at home. I don’t know why I never thought of doing the same but after that day I said I would give it a go. Today was that day!! After hammering out multiple itineraries for wheelchair users visiting Vancouver attractions I wanted to treat myself. Result = Brown Sugar Oat Shaken Espresso in a wine glass of course a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do and by that I mean make do with whatever resources she has 😂 + Greek Souvlaki. For those of you who don’t know me too well, I am a foodie and I love Greek food. After living a few years in Cyprus who wouldn’t?? ❤️

It is such a beautiful day as I look outside my window. I have been glued to my seat all day working off my computer and forgot to stop and smell the roses. As I look down there are people basking in the sun, boys playing hockey while girls scavenger hunt in the garden. The ducks are in the pond again and it means only one thing, time for me to take a break, go outside and enjoy this Blessed day! I truly love this city and am so grateful to be able to call it home 🏠 💕😊

Ever have those mornings when you wake up fresh and ready to attack your day. Then you hear the sound of the birds outside your window and this time I was curious to see if I could spot the little monster. Yes I am calling him/her/them a monster because most mornings I am looking to sleep in but oh no no no no no that is not the plan my feathery friend has for me. It wants to let me know that Spring is here, the flowers are blooming, the sun is on the rise and I should be out of bed. Today was not the day I was looking for my shotgun, but instead my camera because I was impressed as this little thing, tilted its head back and belted out fearlessly to the world that it was alive! Bravo my little friend you live to see another day and so do I. Lots to do and places to be… wait what do you do the rest of the day and more importantly where’s your office??!! (Sound: Not original as I didn’t think to capture the sound was rushing to get ready for work)

It is a beautiful day and please don’t hate me for sharing more pics of nature I couldn’t help myself. I am grateful for the small things in life and right now that is the pretty colours along my walk home from work. Even though my allergies were the worst it has ever been I am thankful for today!!
