What an amazing experience we had at Ride for Refuge last weekend! This year, the TAVANCA team had the opportunity to help at one of the event's rest stops, cheering participants on and keeping them fueled with water, snacks, and plenty of encouragement along the way. Days like this remind you what community truly looks like in action!

Most accounting firms in Vancouver made the jump to cloud software years ago, QuickBooks Online, cloud tax prep, client portals, and honestly it made life easier. Faster access, less server maintenance, work from anywhere during crunch time.

Somewhere along the way "we're in the cloud" quietly turned into "we're secure," and those two things were never actually the same claim. Your cloud provider takes care of their servers. What happens inside your account, who has admin rights, whether anyone notices a strange login at 2am, that part is still on you.

Last Saturday, Theresia Joseph and Rushabh Raval had the privilege of representing TAVANCA at the Big Sisters Soirée 2026, an incredible evening that brought Vancouver's community together around a cause we're honoured to believe in: the power of mentorship in shaping the next generation of women.

The phone in your pocket has more access to your business than most of your computers do. Email, business apps, shared drives, sometimes the entire network, and it drags all of that through every coffee shop WiFi and airport lounge it connects to.
