32 & 54 West Hastings 👋

It has been 10 years since Carol Lee from the Vancouver Chinatown Foundation started to formulate her plan to create a new standard in community-orientated social housing in DTES Vancouver in partnership with the City of Vancouver, BC Housing and Canada Mortgage & Housing Corporation. Westbourne Projects Ltd. was retained to manage the successful completion of this 231 unit, 10 storey building. Our services included project management, leasing coordination, furniture procurement, show suite staging and more. We are extremely proud to be part of this premier example of how an unique partnership of all levels of government with a charitable foundation and their donors/supporters can create a true example of community housing.

Congratulations to the Vancouver Chinatown Foundation for a successful Autumn Gala! Westbourne Projects is proud to be part of this amazing project and had a wonderful evening with our client VCF along with its sponsors, donors, guests, and volunteers. Most notably the progress of the 46 West Hastings project was celebrated, which is slated to provide 231 new affordable units to Downtown Eastside along with a 50,000 square foot health centre in early 2024.

Back in May, we were honoured to walk Premier Eby and other VIP's and dignitaries through our 46 West Hastings project. This was on the heels of the Premier's announcement of a $2.2M grant from the Province of British Columbia to the Vancouver Chinatown Foundation, to support the revitalization efforts of Vancouver’s historic Chinatown.

Congratulations to the St. John Paul II Academy Foundation for breaking ground on March 31, 2023 - where staff and students from the current St. John Paul II Academy along with representatives from the project team gathered to celebrate this project milestone. Situated in South Surrey with a total gross floor area of 11,000 square meters, the new Catholic private school will serve students from Grades 8-12.

Westbourne Projects Ltd. is proud to have been retained as the owner's rep on the Vancouver College upgrade project. Working with the school through all phases of design and permitting, two brand new buildings were erected in the Summer of 2020. Outfitted with state of the art educational spaces, this project still retains the heritage facade from the original school building.
