Just as you would not begin the rejuvenation of a backyard deck by purchasing a new hot tub and furniture to immediately place on top, it is important to consider underlying support in contemplating our digital future."

The dictionary definitions of the word ‘foundation’ are as follows – “the lowest load-bearing part of a building, typically below ground level,” or alternatively “an underlying basis or principle.” A foundation is load-bearing, and the basis for which everything else is built on top.
