Pay Rate: Up to $18 (starting) hourly depending on experience and site assignment.

What does a Security Officer do?
Security Officers typically do the following:
• Provide superior customer service to clients and general public
• Protect and enforce laws on an employer’s property
• Monitor alarms and video surveillance cameras
• Control access for employees, visitors, and outside contractors
• Conduct security checks over a specified area
• Write comprehensive reports outlining what they observed while on patrol
Minimum requirements:
• Must have completed the Basic Security Training course and hold a Valid B.C. Security Worker License
• Must have completed grade 12 and hold High School Diploma or GED
• Have demonstrated interest and experience in serving the public
• Fluent English written, verbal and reading skills
What we’re looking for:
• Positive attitude with professional demeanor and strong interpersonal/customer-service skills.
• Must act in a disciplined, honest and ethical manner
• Strong observation and communication skills, the ability to maintain self-control and the ability to make quick decisions during emergency situations
• Should be comfortable working alone or within diverse teams and must be able to stick to procedures and set routines
• Good, flexible availability during the week – days, evenings, graveyard, and weekend shifts
• Previous customer service experience is an asset
• Class 5 driver’s license is an asset but is not mandatory
