This Discovery Day, Talamore reflects on a moment 130 years ago that changed Yukon forever — and on how each generation inherits both the achievements and the lessons of those that came before us.

The story of people finding possibility in this landscape and ways to thrive here reaches much further back than the discovery of gold on Bonanza Creek in 1896. Coffee Creek is known in Hän as Ttthetryän Dëk — a name meaning “copper creek” that reflects a history of knowledge and use reaching back long before the Klondike.

The Klondike added another complex chapter to that story — one that was both a testament to extraordinary ingenuity and perseverance, and a period of profound displacement and upheaval. The legacy of that era continues to shape what responsible resource development asks of us today.

Discovery is a moment — but what follows can shape a place for generations.

For Talamore, being part of the next chapter in Yukon’s story is both an opportunity and a responsibility. We’re grateful to everyone whose work, knowledge, and partnership have brought the Coffee Gold Project to where it is today, and we look forward to building its future together with care and respect.

Thank you to Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in Government for welcoming us to this year’s Moosehide Gathering.

Members of the Talamore team were proud to volunteer and support the Gathering through a community donation. We appreciated the opportunity to be part of a weekend that brought together people from many Nations, communities, and backgrounds to connect and share.

Last month, members of our leadership team visited the Coffee Gold Project to share the story behind our new name.

As we enter the next phase of our company's growth, we've adopted a name that better reflects who we are and the values that guide our work.

Talamore is a Gaelic term that translates roughly to "land of great value." While that may bring to mind the resources we're working to develop, the value we create depends on more than what's in the ground — it comes from the people and partnerships that turn potential into something real.

Advanced by Talamore Mining, the Coffee Gold Project is a gold development project located about 130 kilometres south of Dawson City and 95 kilometres northeast of Beaver Creek in Yukon, Canada. We recognize that protection of the land and water around the Coffee Gold Project is of central importance to the Trondëk Hwëch’in, White River First Nation, Selkirk First Nation, and the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyäk Dun.

From day one, our approach is simple: do the work properly and follow through on our commitments.
