Each product we bring in to the shop is a chance to share something we genuinely believe in. Through this small 300 sq ft space, we get to meet and have conversations with people from all over the city—and over time, it has grown into a community that appreciates the same things in life.

Come and say hi this weekend — William and Beatrice are in on Saturday, and Lina on Sunday.

Can't believe it's half way through September.

We know September can be a busy one — back to school, change of season, all of it. We hope the little objects and tools you've picked up from the shop can help ease the transition.

Featured in this photo is the Karel Martens Birthday Calendar. A colourful and clever wall addition — a permanent reminder of the friends and family whose birthdays you want to remember. The kind of thing that stays on the wall for years.

The kid-proof (but really for everyone) Aderia Tsuyoiko glass has been a customer favourite for years. We recently brought in new sizes — slightly larger, making them great for a quick sip of water or juice.

Made in Japan with ion-toughened glass, our team loves that it lets kids build real habits around care and handling — without the fragility worries.

Fun fact: the Tsuyoiko glass started with an idea from a nursery school teacher and nutrition educator — she believed kids should handle the real thing early on, not a plastic stand-in. Working with Ishizuka Glass, she helped shape a tumbler built specifically for small hands.

Restocked—Hasami Maruhiro collection

For nearly a century, Hasami pottery was shipped through neighbouring Arita and labelled as someone else's work. It wasn't until after 2002 that Hasami began reclaiming its own name — and Maruhiro's HASAMI brand launch in 2010 is largely credited with bringing it back into the spotlight.

400 years of craft. Rediscovered just recently.

Between the studio and the shop, multitasking is just part of the day. Keeping my work area clear and my tools minimal has really helped — but ngl, there's a lot of old stationery that feels too wasteful to throw away. I now keep it all in a toolbox — out of sight, but there when I need it.

Hanging at the front of our shop are some of our customers' and staff favourites — hats by IDEA and towels by Imabari.

Two brands from different corners of the world, but we love the story behind each. IDEA was crowned by Vogue as "the coolest bookshop in the world" and ran a Secret Book Room in Soho, mostly frequented by fashion designers and creatives.

Imabari, on the other hand, now produces over 60% of all towels made in Japan. Their secret is the soft, mineral-light water from underground springs fed by the Soja River and Mount Ishizuchi — it allows manufacturers to skip heavy bleaching and chemical processing entirely.
