The Mining For Miracles Pie Throw campaign has officially wrapped up, and we're proud to share that Team Taseko and Richard Weymark raised a total of $32,148 in support of BC Children's Hospital Foundation.

Thank you to the team at Taseko's Gibraltar Mine, who helped organize, cook, serve and attend site-wide fundraising BBQs in support of the campaign. Through their efforts, Gibraltar staff raised $6,315 for the BC Children's Hospital Foundation – and with matching contributions from Taseko and Gibraltar, that total tallied to $18,945!

MineralsEd Brings Mining Education to Life for Students at Vancouver Community Fair

The annual event, designed to spark curiosity and build understanding, introduces ‘Junior Explorers’ to the mining and metals industry through interactive learning and games – and trivia questions to test their knowledge!

Nearly 700 ‘Junior Explorers’ attended the event this year, and learned more about BC’s mining industry from exploration all the way to market, and how minerals are used in British Columbians’ everyday lives.

Taseko was pleased to take part in the event, with team members joining other industry representatives to support MineralsEd’s educational mission and connect with students throughout the day.

May is Mining Month in BC, and an opportunity to celebrate the mining sector’s role in contributing to our provincial economy and supporting local businesses and communities.

Today, we’re highlighting our Gibraltar copper mine in south-central British Columbia. Gibraltar is the second-largest copper producer in Canada, producing an average of 130 million lbs of copper and 2.5 million pounds of molybdenum per year, and employing nearly 800 men and women in high-wage jobs in BC’s Cariboo region.

For more than 20 years, Gibraltar has been a source of employment and economic growth, benefiting employees, local communities, and partners, including Indigenous communities.

And as the demand for copper increases, we’re proud to be providing an essential metal for construction, manufacturing and industrial sectors as well as electrification, digitalization and the energy transition.
