Congratulations to Kirshbaum Associates — our very first website client — on their 40th anniversary today!

40 years ago today I opened my own office. I was incredibly fortunate to have no expectations other than a passionate desire to work for musicians who I believed in. Over the years, the artists I have been privileged to represent have given me pleasure, hope, and inspiration through the beauty of their performances and the joy of working together. The importance of the fact that, early on, a few artists had faith in my abilities cannot be overstated - they saw something that I could not have possibly known at that age. Pinchas Zukerman, Ralph Kirshbaum, Sherrill Milnes, Sir András Schiff and Peter Serkin were pillars of guidance and support. Their generosity, belief in mutual goals, and understanding of what is of value helped shape the direction of our company. I have no regrets, only gratitude to each and every artist and staff member who has graced the company of Kirshbaum Associates Inc. My special enduring thanks go to Peri Stedman and Jason Belz for their enormous contributions to our shared mission for over half of these four decades.

While no one knows what lies ahead in our tumultuous world, I am confident that we will continue to do whatever we can to shape and develop the careers of artists, bringing joy and comfort to audiences of the future, hungry to come together with renewed enthusiasm to experience the profound range of human emotions communicated through live musical performance. - Shirley Kirshbaum
