I founded Samar Ink Productions in late 2013, upon my graduation from the Vancouver Film School's Writing for Film & Television Program. I am writer-producer of SHAME (2013), which had its world premiere at IFFSA/PIFF 2014 in Toronto, its Indian premiere at KASHISH 2014 in Mumbai; its US Premiere in Seattle at SSAFF 2014, and a screening in Vancouver at VISAFF 2014, among others. I am also produce
r and one of the directors of CHINESE TAKEOUT FOR ONE, which won in the 2015 Seattle Times 3-Minute Masterpiece Contest and premiered at SIFF 2015. My first film as a solo director, called THE SPECIALS (2015) was picked up for distribution in China, and won Best North American Short Film at VISAFF 2016. As a screenwriter, I offer services in film and television writing, story editing, script editing and story/pitch consulting. I specialize in minority experiences in terms of race/gender/sexuality/ability etc, so projects with minority representation will always be given priority. I also offer on-set services, typically as AD, script supervisor, or unit stills photographer. I am also available to help produce and/or direct your project, especially if it is a short film -- and am always interested in creative collaboration. You can reach me at [email protected].
