What lies ahead of you, is far greater than you can envision for yourself, but vision exciting growth and you will be surprised with even better.
The change, the unknown, the experimenting along the way and growing your career is not for the faint of effort, but if you are willing to challenge your own limits, you will be met with far greater reward than the discomfort of having to evolve.
Are any of you in a bit of career exploration or suspension right now where you are being asked to decide or possibly leap without sure ground?
I have spoken with people just graduating high school to those in mid career change to those nearing or post retirement who are all navigating the expansive question of:
'What's next or best for me and where should I be leading myself and my career?'
The million dollar or the 'happiness question'.
It's not simple, it's highly complex and emotional, and the stakes are high. Yet, it's worth the sweat, deliberation, and stress because it's not only your future at stake, it's your life and happiness too.
In fact, learning how to lead your life forward to what you want, who you are, and what will bring you happiness, is possibly the most important work you can invest in.
Leading this discovery takes deliberate thought, awareness, and planning.
It is important to know where you come alive and what excites you.
We aren't meant to get it perfect on the first try. In fact the adventure is needed to uncover what is and what is not meant for us. Let it be an adventure and let your strengths, interest, and natural talents guide you forward.
But it doesn't stop there. The last career decision I made was made based upon my values and my needs. Not just one, but my top 5 values.
On paper, an opportunity presented itself that was so financially secure, people would have thought I was crazy to turn it down, but it would not have allowed 2 of my top values to be prioritized.
I was not willing to sacrifice my health or my family for the security of money. Is that right or wrong?
It is just my values and your personal values = happiness.
What do you value and need in your career?
What excites you?
What adventurous step is next?
