Vancouver Born LPGA Tour Player Leah John Partners with Monaghan Golf Group

(VANCOUVER, BC) – Monaghan Golf Group, one of British Columbia’s leading golf management consultants, is proud to announce a new partnership with Canadian LPGA Tour professional Leah John.

The Vancouver-based rising star will serve as an ambassador for Monaghan Golf Group as she begins her rookie season on the LPGA Tour wearing the Monaghan Golf Group logo on her right sleeve as she competes across the globe in 2026.

John, who grew up in the Vancouver golf community, has quickly become one of Canada’s most exciting young talents. Her connection to the region and her commitment to growing the game align perfectly with Monaghan Golf Group’s ambitions to support women in golf and to increase participation in the sport overall.

We are proud to congratulate Tom Monaghan, Founder, President and CEO of Monaghan Golf Group, on his outstanding contributions to golf in Canada. Tom was recently honoured with the PGA of Canada Dick Munn Executive Professional of the Year Award, a national recognition celebrating leadership, operational excellence, and dedication to growing the game. This follows his honour as PGA of British Columbia Executive Golf Professional of the Year.

Tom established Monaghan Golf in 2009 and has grown it into one of Western Canada’s most respected golf management companies. In 2025, his team was awarded the contract to operate all three City of Vancouver municipal golf courses, a first for one operator, supporting more seamless experiences across Fraserview, McCleery and Langara.

Congratulations Tom and Monaghan Golf Group on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you for your continued commitment to Vancouver Park Board municipal golf.

For over 25 years, McCleery Golf Academy has been proud to offer community programs that make the game more accessible. ​The Muncie Booth Inner-City Youth Golf Program was first launched in 1999 by past McCleery Head Golf Professional, Muncie Booth, with the goal of introducing golf to disadvantaged youth living in one of Vancouver’s most at-risk neighbourhoods. The program provides both short-term and long-term benefits for the participants. Kids acquire new physical skills while also learning additional qualities that golf celebrates, such as etiquette and respect, rules and self-policing, sportsmanship and getting along with others.

Monaghan Golf Group, a Vancouver-based golf operations company, has been awarded the City of Vancouver contract to operate its three award-winning 18-hole municipal golf courses.

Fraserview Golf Course, McCleery Golf Course and Langara Golf Course are among the busiest municipal courses in Canada. Monaghan Golf has operated Fraserview Golf Course since 2009 and Langara Golf Course since 2013. This is the first time all three municipal courses will be operated by a sole vendor.

“Monaghan Golf Inc. is very pleased to once again be working alongside the City of Vancouver and Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation to operate its award-winning municipal golf courses. During our time operating Fraserview and Langara Golf Courses we’ve seen significant growth in golf participation, in addition to increased interest in our expanded junior and adult golf programming; with the addition of McCleery Golf Course, we look forward to continuing to bring elevated customer service and programs to golfers.
