The catalogue was designed to showcase an important product information in the most efficient way. The constrains of space and limited number of pages created an additional level of challenge. The catalogue was designed to be eye catching and easy to read, with the right choice of fonts, colours and layout.

The objective was to communicate the product’s features in a way that would make them more attractive, while making sure every piece of information is included in an organized way.

Client showcase: Logo Design for Vancity Quarts. In this logo the client wanted to reflect the local feel of downtown Vancouver and the mountains.

My initial logo inpiration started with sketching mountains, downtown skyline and connecting the visuals with the idea of "crystal".

Brand Identity for Miran and BC Blacksmith Studio

It is always a special treat to create a brand identity for an artist because it gives me an opportunity to learn about his/her creative process and get inspired. If you live in Vancouver, you’ve probably passed by or have seen BC Blacksmith studio located on Granville Island. Miran Elbakyan is a blacksmith and an artisan, specializing in sophisticated design, making unique wrought iron staircase railings, fences, gates and sculptures.

Each of Miran’s wrought-iron sculptures has a unique story inviting the audience to watch a spectacle frozen in time. His art sculptures are inspired by music and everyday life, simple joys in nature and daily human experiences.

During our work I helped Miran to achieve the following objectives:

👉Design a logo that represents BC Blacksmith studio
👉Design a brand signature for “Miran” that can be used independently from the logo as a stamp on his sculptures and other work creations
👉Business card design
👉Brand identity guide design for a website development

My logo design process started with sketches to capture the essence of Miran’s work. Gradually we arrived at a simplified logo that can be versatile in different media and applications.

The stamp signature was designed to express the strength and nature of wrought iron material.

Located in the heart of Granville island – BC Blacksmith is a worthwhile destination to witness a rare form of wrought iron art. You will find here an extensive selection of wrought iron sculptures, railings, gates, tables, wine racks and bottle holders, gazebos and canopies, mirrors in wrought, iron frames, lighting fixtures, home décor and wrought iron beds.

Client feature: Evanesce

Project objective: to create a website for Evanesce that would support Evanesce rapid growth and showcase innovative technology through visual presentation.

Evanesce is an innovative leader in sustainable technology committed to replacing single-use plastics with eco-friendly solutions. One of Evanesce's original products is a meat tray that can decompose in 90 days or less! Their breakthrough technology is backed by a dedicated R&D team who are experts in the fields of material science, chemistry and bioengineering.

I feel we were able to capture the feeling of innovation and excitement about the future with revolutionary plant-based packaging technology. On the other hand the website appears easy to navigate despite complexity of various product categories.

This was our second time working with Evanesce redesigning the website. The first time my team got hired to create a simple corporate website for a single product. Now the company has over 32 products and growing! I was thrilled to see such rapid progress.

I want to give a special credit to Evanesce internal team and Jeremy helping us with branding and photography! We wouldn't be able to do the project without you!

Designing a real estate logo. Should realtors have their own logo?

It talks about branding, logo design and dissects a number of core brand concepts useful for agents. In the article I also talk about one of my latest client's cases and walk you through a design process.

When you design your real estate business brand – think that it will communicate with your clientele through a gut feeling. If your real estate logo brand is inconsistent with you or other brand touchpoints your client may not trust you and walk away.

✅Your real estate logo is your brand’s visual mark. It communicates your brand essence.

✅Keep your logo simple, memorable, creative and timeless.

✅Your logo should identify NOT illustrate.

✅Colours can improve brand recognition by up to 80%

✅Typography can make or break your business. Don’t underestimate the power of great font! (Consult your designer!)

If you’re looking to brand or rebrand your real estate business, or are just starting in the industry – it’s important to consider everything from your logo to your website design.

At a very absolute minimum – good clear branding will help you to retain at least one client per year! But on average it will elevate your business and let you go as far as you choose to.

Designing custom illustrations for a website, brochure or other business marketing material will help you to distinguish and create a unique voice.

I love projects that allow me to use my creative abilities and graphic design. One of my favourite projects in the past year was website design for a blog writer where I got to create illustrations for home page banner and topic pages. I was able to find a distinctive visual voice for this project because the client trusted my process and allowed me communicate in whatever style I felt would best suit it.

This type of work encourages me to seek out for more opportunities where I can merge fluidity of art form with the science of design.
