We are hosting special Navigation Sessions for anyone who is freaked out by all the bad news that's been coming at us lately.

The session uses a lightly structured circle process that gives everyone a chance to talk about the tensions they are feeling at the moment, look below the surface at the deeper patterns and try to get to a “so what” - some sense of how we can move forward more effectively in the face of our current challenges.

You can choose between Thursday at 5:00pm pacific or Friday at the same time.

Here's the link to register: https://calendly.com/lifeboat.../lifeboat-navigation-session

Let me know if you have any questions.

For some reason, I was drawn to re-read this post that I wrote almost 3 years ago. I repost it today to see if maybe it resonates a bit more with people contemplating what a "post-Covid" (really - "pause-Covid") normal looks like. Things weren't normal before the pandemic.

How will you respond to this mortal threat?

I think we can all agree, these are tough times. Just trying to make sense of it all is exhausting.

So my friend and colleague April Struthers and I will be hosting "Navigating via Tensions" session again starting Wednesday, September 16th at 10:00am Pacific Time (via Zoom) and happening every week for the foreseeable future.

Navigation sessions are a chance to talk through and process what’s happening in a safe, supportive environment to help us each find a healthy balanced way forward through these turbulent times.

If you want to know more about how they work, check out my Medium post here: https://medium.com/…/navigating-via-tensions-745667aa6eeb

The sessions are free and “drop-in style” so you don’t need to commit to more than one, but we do ask that you let us know ahead of time if you plan to attend as we are limiting the number of people to make sure everyone has a chance to participate.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in, you can register at https://calendly.com/emotus/navigation.

Feel free to share with friends who might be interested.

We just posted our materials "wish list" on the website in case any one knows someone on Pender who might have things they are willing to loan or sell to us to help us get the farm started.

Our Wish List We are starting our farm in challenging times. The covid-19 pandemic started closing things down less than 2 weeks after we moved in to a blank canvas farm. Our original plan was to gather as many tools and supplies second-hand as was possible as way to further reduce our footprints by...

We now have a website! Highgrove.farm (not .com or .ca - just .farm). We'd love feedback, but be generous - we've been doing this in our spare time after racing around trying to secure basic supplies to start a farm in a pandemic.

We created a FundRazr campaign to help with the unexpected costs of starting a farm during a pandemic. Please share widely.

We started a regenerative farm on a former clear cut with rocky soil, a new barn and not much else one month before the UN declared a global pandemic. Help us respond to the climate crisis by building an adaptive, resilient farm on Pender Island, BC.
