CFIB Petition to Stop the PST Expansion 📢 The Canadian Federation of Independent Business has launched a petition to stop the PST expansion on October 1, 2026.

The petition calls the government to:
✷ Reverse course and immediately halt plans to expand the PST to professional services.
✷ Offset rising costs that government itself drives up, like payroll costs, fees, or paperwork, and provide Input Tax Credits (ITCs) on the PST businesses pay.
✷ Stop treating small businesses as government's piggy bank.

BC businesses are spending more to keep employees and customers safe. Starting October 1, the provincial gov’t will expand the PST to those security investments, creating a tax on safety. The provincial government needs to reverse course.
