As I think back on all the cakes I’ve created over the years, I think those I’ve made for my friends kids are definitely my favourite. It awakens a child-like wonder within me. Children have such wild imaginations, and it’s definitely a treat being able to tap into a part of myself I feel many of us forget as we get older. It’s a great reminder to take a breath every now and then and try to look at the world with a childlike sense of wonder ✨ @ Vancouver, British Columbia

It was such a delight creating this cake for a friend’s son’s 1st birthday! I even watched the movie for research and a good chuckle (thank you Netflix). Every little detail helps bring this cake to life, and I am honoured to have had the opportunity to create something special for such a great milestone! Happy Birthday!

Lychee Rose Strawberry Cream Cake - officially my favourite flavour combination to date! Light whipped cream flavoured with a fragrant rose water, fresh cut strawberries and lychee pieces between each layer of Japanese cotton sponge cake. The dried rose petals also added a nice touch, adding to the overall fragrance of the cake. You don’t know how happy I was with the turn-out considering all the trial and errors I experienced these last couple days. So, so happy with this cake creation! @ Vancouver, British Columbia

Since December, I’ve been fascinated by and have been inspired to try my hand at homemade chocolate bars. They make great handmade gifts for all your friends and loved ones, and can be customized based on their flavour preferences. This Valentine’s Day, I decided to try out a few flavour combinations and here’s what I came up with. Featured are my dark chocolate bars jewelled with freeze-dried strawberries and a light sprinkle of dried rose petals. Romantic & unexpected, with the slightest touch of sweetness, this bar is perfect for that special someone in your life! @ Vancouver, British Columbia

M I N I O N S • I know this post is more than overdue, but it’s been a while since I’ve taken any cake orders, and this project was definitely one of the top fave. My client was looking for a two-tier Chocolate Ganache Drip (a favourite request) with a fun Minion theme for her son’s first birthday! This cake was so much fun to make, and I hope I was able to capture the silliness of those darn little Minions ☺️ @ Vancouver, British Columbia

S P R I N G • Its been a weird mix of rain and sunshine here in Vancouver, and it definitely reminds me that gardening season is just around the corner! This project was so fun to create, as it was inspired by my two colleagues as one has a large vegetable garden, while the other owns a cute little white dog, Pippa!
