Most inspiring code comments ever? HackYourFuture is a coding school founded in the Netherlands for people that have limited access to education and the labour market. The school celebrated seven recent graduates who were refugees by hiding their stories in the source code of their new employers' websites.

Each year the card game Cards Against Humanity runs a hilariously bizarre Black Friday gimmick. Past favourites include the 99% off sale, the holiday hole and selling actual bu****it.

Today, they've pitted their writing team against an (alleged) artificial intelligence in a battle to write the best new cards. If they writers win, they get a holiday bonus. If they lose, they get fired:

Read our new article for Facebook Social Good and learn how to make your campaigns remarkable.

Organizations all need to have conventional, “heartbeat” style communication to survive, but you need to create remarkable moments to thrive.

Capulet hosted Fireworks Factory at Hollyhock on Cortez Island from September 29 - October 3, 2019. Fireworks Factory is a conference for senior-level marketing and communications professionals looking for an unorthodox learning experience. We welcomed a mix of for-profit and non-profit attendees to wrestle with big ideas like trend spotting, neuromarketing, and campaign ideation.

Canadian children of the 90's will remember a 1999 commercial featuring a tiny hippo improbably roaming a suburban home. The North American House Hippo taught us about media literacy. He's back for Canada's federal election to help us deal with fake news.

What we like: Resurrecting an old campaigns is an easy way to jump-start awareness and score some lazy earned media.

What could be better: The campaign landing page is pretty underwhelming--poorly organized and too inward-looking.

Alaska’s Katmai National Park recently launched Fat Bear Week, where they celebrate "the hard work these bears go through to pack on the pounds and survive almost 6 months of starvation." Fans voted on the chubbiest chonker, which turned out to be bear #435, Holly.

What we like: They even had a leaderboard to track the huskiest ursine.

What could be better: They got a lot of media attention for the contest this week, but their contest page is pretty rudimentary. What do they want visitors to do when they get there?

Keep up with your favorite Fat Bears!   THE WINNER - HOLLY 2019 FAT BEAR QUEEN She is fat. She is fabulous. She is 435 Holly. And you voted her the 2019 Fat Bear Week Champion. All hail Holly whose healthy heft will help her hibernate until the spring. Long live the Queen of Corpulence! FINALS ----...

At New York Comic Con this week, Wendy's released its own Dungeons & Dragons-style table-top roleplaying game. The 97-page game manual invites you to battle pangs and grumbles in the mystical nation of Freshtovia. There are even character sheets and a dice simulator.

What we like: It's pretty bizarre. But it's also a note-perfect homage to and satire of Dungeons & Dragons, which has enjoyed a recent cultural resurgence.

What could be better: I might have waited a few months to launch, as it feels a little derivative of KFC's even-wackier anime-style dating simulator game in the news last month.

Responsible plant parents are checking their ficus into a plant hotel while on vacation to avoid coming home to a dry, shriveled mess. The Foodora of ferns, Patch plants, created the only hotel exclusively for houseplants.

What we like: The place isn't real so if you attempt a booking, Rose Grower, the hotel's fake general manager, offers you 15% off their store instead.

What could be better: The visuals could be zanier. I want to see a plant wearing a tiny bathrobe.

Whether it’s a Sahara-like desert for your cactus friends, or an Amazonia for your tropical pals, your plants will get the perfect climate controlled space.
