Nations Royalty

Nations Royalty Building community wealth through Indigenous partnerships.

We are Canada’s first and largest majority Indigenous-owned and managed public royalty company, helping Nations grow capital to strengthen independence and support future generations.

Before the word "resource" entered the business conversation, Indigenous peoples were building economies in land, knowledge, relationships, and community.

The Indian Act of 1876 disrupted those systems. Yet Indigenous peoples never stopped building.

In 2000, the Nisga'a Final Agreement became the first modern treaty in British Columbia. Today, the Nisga'a Nation holds a 77% ownership interest in Nations Royalty Corp., built on the principle that Indigenous peoples should share in the long-term value created on their traditional territories.

This National Indigenous History Month, we recognize the enduring legacy of Indigenous leadership, entrepreneurship, and wealth creation.

We were always building. And we continue to build.

This is National Indigenous History Month

Happy Nisga’a Day.

26 years ago, on May 11, 2000, the Nisga’a Final Agreement came into effect. BC’s first modern treaty. 113 years of pursuit reached its destination.

Nations Royalty Corporation exists because of that vision. Majority owned by the Nisga’a Nation, NRC is Canada’s first Indigenous-owned mining royalty company.

Today, we celebrate the generations who made this possible and the generations building on it.

One heart. One path. One Nation.

Three days at the Arctic Indigenous Investment Conference in Whitehorse.

Our VP Corporate Development, Kody Penner, shared the Nations Royalty model and moderated a panel with Selkirk Copper, the first majority Indigenous-owned mining company.

Mining remains a cornerstone of the North. With new infrastructure and defence spending opening access to more minerals than ever, Indigenous-led capital is moving with it.

Thanks to the Yukon First Nation Chamber of Commerce for hosting.
