I start getting a lot more wasp calls around June every year in Metro Vancouver.
Most homeowners notice it when they start spending more time outside. You sit down on the patio, fire up the barbecue, or eat dinner outdoors, and suddenly there are wasps flying around constantly.
What a lot of people don't realize is that by June, many nests are already established and growing quickly. A few wasps flying around usually means there's a nest somewhere nearby.
I regularly find nests under roof edges, attached to sheds, beneath decks, and tucked into corners that people rarely look at.
The biggest issue isn't just seeing wasps. People stop feeling comfortable in their own backyard because they're worried about getting stung.
Below is a quick look at a recent wasp job I handled.
