At 99.5% purity, the lithium carbonate end product expected to come from the Falchani Lithium Project exceeds the threshold for battery-grade lithium.

This means that, unlike most hard-rock lithium projects, what is produced at Falchani should not need to be sent off-site for additional refining—a key driver of the robust economics highlighted in our updated Preliminary Economic Assessment.

We're pleased to provide an update on the optimization of the Falchani processing flow-sheet.

The unique volcanic style of lithium mineralization at Falchani, combined with low impurity content allows its flow-sheet to resemble more conventional mining/processing flow-sheets versus most hard-rock lithium projects where concentrates are produced and then shipped elsewhere for further refining into higher quality products. Falchani’s flow-sheet utilizes warm sulfuric acid leaching and impurity removal steps to produce a high-purity lithium carbonate end product on site with purity in excess of 99.5%, typically the threshold for battery-grade lithium carbonate. This helps drive the robust economics, particularly the low operating costs, highlighted in the Company’s original and recently updated Preliminary Economic Assessments. There is no need for additional refining steps offshore.

“This was an extremely successful year operationally for both Falchani and TLC, our advanced lithium projects in Peru and Nevada, respectively.

We also made strong progress in positioning our large-scale uranium project, Macusani (in Peru), to unlock value for the Company and its shareholders.

The filing of the maiden PEA for TLC and an updated PEA on Falchani demonstrated robust economics for both projects and led to a combined after-tax net present value of approximately US$8.37 billion.

However, the overall market conditions for lithium developers have been very challenging throughout the financial year, with a major correction in the commodity price driving equity prices to very low valuations.

Going forward, with lithium prices appearing to have bottomed and uranium prices having strengthened further, we feel we are uniquely placed to benefit from any sustained recovery and in the interim, we continue to prudently manage our working capital."

The Quelcaya exploration project is located 5 km west of the Falachani Lithium Project, and was announced late last year.

Its discovery strongly suggests the presence of a significant, district-scale lithium resource on the Macusani plateau.

Maiden drilling in the area returned grades as high as 2,668 parts per million lithium.
