As leaders, our instinct is often to provide answers.

But great coaching starts with asking better questions.

When employees bring challenges, opportunities, or goals to the table, jumping straight to solutions can unintentionally limit ownership, growth, and problem-solving. The most effective leaders create space for their team members to think critically and find their own path forward.

That's where the GROW Model comes in.

This simple coaching framework helps leaders guide more productive conversations by focusing on:

✔ Goal
✔ Reality
✔ Options
✔ Way Forward

The result? Stronger accountability, greater confidence, and more meaningful employee development.

Throwing it back to the Insurance Brokers Association of Alberta Conference. 📸

One of the best parts of our work is getting to spend time with leaders from different industries and realizing how often they're asking the same questions.

How do we help people do their best work?

How do we create workplaces where performance and well-being can coexist?

How do we build organizations that can adapt to what's next?

The answers look different from industry to industry, but the conversations are often more similar than you'd think.

Thanks to IBAA for the opportunity to be part of this year's event and connect with so many thoughtful leaders from across Alberta's insurance community. 🤝

"AI is replacing entry-level jobs."

We hear this concern often. But the bigger risk may not be AI itself.

It's organizations reducing entry-level opportunities without a plan for how future talent will develop.

Entry-level roles are where employees build skills, gain confidence, learn how organizations operate, and begin their path to leadership. If those opportunities disappear, so does part of your future talent pipeline.

AI can automate tasks and increase efficiency. But it still relies on human judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making to ensure the right outcomes. It cannot replace mentorship, professional growth, or the experience employees gain by learning alongside others.

The organizations seeing the greatest value from AI are not using it to replace people. They're using it to enhance human capability, helping employees work smarter while keeping people at the centre of important decisions.

The question isn't whether AI will change entry-level work.

It's whether employers are prepared to evolve their talent strategy alongside it.

Want to equip your team to use AI effectively while continuing to invest in talent development?

Sometimes, two is better than one. ✨

That's exactly what happened when a client came to us looking to hire one person.

By the end of the process, they hired two candidates instead.

Not because their plans changed.
Because the people our team brought forward were simply too good to pass up.

That’s what can happen when recruitment is thoughtful, intentional, and built around people.

At Envol, we take the time to understand what our clients actually need and find candidates who will genuinely thrive in the role and on the team.

We’re proud of the talent we get to work with and the care our team brings to every search. 🤝

A few snapshots from this year's BC & Yukon HR Conference & Expo 📸✨

One of the things we love most about events like these is the opportunity to step outside our day-to-day work and hear what's top of mind for HR leaders across industries.

The conversations were honest, practical, and centred around a common challenge: helping people strategies earn a seat at the business table.

A special shout out to the Envol speakers, Rikka Bouseh and Sydney Hara, for sharing their insights and contributing to such meaningful discussions. 👏

We're grateful for the opportunity to be part of the conversation and connect with so many thoughtful HR professionals who are doing important work inside their organizations. 🤝

Thank you to CPHR BC & Yukon for bringing the community together and creating space for these important discussions!

Already looking forward to the next one.

🌈 Pride Resource Spotlight

Over the past few weeks, we've been highlighting resources that explore belonging from different perspectives, from inclusive communication to affirming care and support for LGBTQIA+ seniors.

To close out our Pride Resource Spotlight series, we're sharing a resource from our own team: Envol's Employee Resource Group (ERG) Guide for Employers.

Employee Resource Groups can play an important role in building connection, fostering belonging, and creating space for employees to support one another. When given the right structure and support, they can help strengthen workplace culture and ensure employees feel seen, heard, and valued.

💬 "By fostering a sense of belonging and community, ERGs provide a vital support system for employees who may feel marginalized or underrepresented."

This guide was created to help employers launch, grow, and sustain Employee Resource Groups through practical tools, templates, and recommendations.

As we've explored throughout this series, belonging takes many forms. It can be shaped by the language we use, the environments we create, and the communities we build. In the workplace, ERGs can be one meaningful way to turn that commitment into action.

Thank you for following along with our Pride Resource Spotlight series and for helping create workplaces where everyone feels they belong. 💙

Today, we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day. 🧡

This is a day to recognize and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, traditions, languages, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada.

As you celebrate today, we invite you to explore with curiosity:
• What Indigenous Nation(s) are connected to the place you call home?
• What Indigenous artist, author, musician, or creator have you discovered recently?
• Is there a local Indigenous event, business, or community initiative you can support today?
• What is one thing you've learned about Indigenous cultures, histories, or traditions in the past year?

Looking for ways to celebrate today?

📍 In BC, consider exploring Indigenous-owned experiences through Tourism BC, including businesses like Ahous Adventures in Tofino, owned and operated by the Ahousaht Nation.

📍 For those of us in Metro Vancouver, explore the Nation's website to learn more about Sḵwx̱wú7mesh culture, language, history, and community events happening throughout the year.

📍 In Ontario, Tourism Ontario highlights Indigenous-owned businesses and experiences across the province, including Indigenous artisans, cultural experiences, and tourism operators.

Every conversation, connection, and learning opportunity helps deepen our appreciation for the rich diversity of Indigenous Peoples across Canada.

Burnout doesn’t usually happen all at once.

It builds slowly through unclear priorities, constant urgency, overloaded teams, broken workflows, and systems that were never designed to scale.

That’s why we created the Workplace Burnout Playbook.

A practical guide for leaders and teams who want to reduce burnout without reducing performance.

Inside, we cover:
✔ How to identify operational friction points
✔ Simple ways to create more clarity and ownership
✔ How to reset team priorities without adding complexity
✔ Where AI can safely support capacity
✔ A realistic 30-day plan to get started

No buzzwords. No “quick fix” culture.

Just practical steps to help create healthier, more sustainable ways of working.

🌈 Pride Resource Spotlight

This Pride Month, we're highlighting resources that encourage us to think more deeply about belonging, inclusion, and the experiences of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

Today, we're sharing Aging Out: Moving Towards Q***r and Trans Competent Care for LGBTQ Seniors, a report developed by .

Through community conversations, research, and lived experiences, the report explored the concerns many LGBTQ seniors shared about aging, care, visibility, and maintaining a sense of identity and belonging later in life.

💬 "LGBTQ seniors are deeply concerned about being able to receive q***r and trans* competent care when moving from independent living to assisted living or residential care."

While this report was published over a decade ago, the conversation it helped advance remains important. It serves as a reminder that creating environments where people feel safe, respected, and able to be themselves is something that matters at every stage of life.

This report resonated with us because we have the opportunity to work alongside organizations across workplaces, healthcare, and community services. It highlights the importance of creating environments where people feel safe, respected, and able to live authentically, not only at work, but throughout every stage of life.

Thank you to QMUNITY for helping bring attention to these experiences and for the work they continue to do in supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ communities across BC.
