We are currently looking to hire a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to our Field Service team to help out with a customer base.
Our customer base is a wide variety of equipment. Everyday is a new challenge and change of scenery.
Reports to: Supervisor, Field Services
Shift: TBD as per customer and business needs
Location: Fraser Valley/ Lower Mainland/ Sunshine Coast, BC
Responsibilities:
* Maintenance and repair of heavy civil, aggregate, forestry equipment, civil ,marine and truck and trailer.
* Able to work with others
* Able to diagnose faults and malfunctions
* Adjust, repair or replace all defective equipment parts, components or systems serviced at customer sites
* Test the repaired equipment for proper performance
* Maintain a safe and clean work environment
* Must be able to work with minimal supervision but also participate in the work of other mechanics and apprentices within the shop and field environment
* Other duties, as assigned
Skills & Qualifications:
* Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright Certification including Red Seal Certification
* Proficient at welding and fabrication
* 5 years minimum in Field Service roll
* Proficient with Cat ET, Cummins Insite and John Deere Service Advisor
* Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals relating to manufacturer
specifications and warranty environments
* Must have a demonstrated ability to efficiently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues in mechanical systems common to forestry and/or construction equipment products
* Experience in a customer facing role and a sound understanding of the importance of customer relationships
* Ability to work with minimal supervision, and experienced in working in field environment
* Good organizational and planning skills
* Strong attention to detail and able to work within the framework of multiple deadlines
* Hold a strong standard for quality and safety
* Valid driver’s License
