I decided that today was a day for me. I got my bijou out early this morning and actually needed a heavy sweater and a lap robe during my early morning ride. We hit the road and headed to Rigaud where I spent a few hours with my mom. We then headed into Vaudreuil to pick up the sushi I had ordered before leaving the house. A great drive back with the sun shining and no need for the sweater or the lap robe this time. The trees are just starting to change in spots and there were no crazy drivers on the road. A great ride listening to my favorite music. Got home cut the grass and I’m now getting ready to enjoy my favourite meal, Sushi. The only thing that would beat today would be getting together with friends. I think I need a few more days for me before settling my bijou in the garage for the winter.

Our fundraiser tonight for the Champlain Library was a big success. Thank you to all our wonderful supporters, including our mayor, for contributing to the success of our evening. A BIG thank you to the businesses and artisans who contributed items to our silent auction. We could not have accomplished this success without you. Last but not least, to The Windsor Tavern for hosting us.

The Friends have decided not to repeat the silent auction going forward. Our local businesses are small and staunch supporters of local fundraisers. However, we feel that in these difficult financial times, many are struggling and we must support them. So we put our auction to bed with many thanks to our community.

The Friends look forward to seeing you next April for our second annual afternoon tea 🫖 in support of our Champlain Library.

The Friends of the Champlain Library are holding a book sale during the Festival of Flavours tomorrow, Sunday, between 10 am and 1 pm.
