As you are probably aware, In April the federal minister of Finance announced important amendments to the TFSA contribution limit and to the minimum RRIF withdrawal amount.
TFSA
The budget proposes changing the TFSA contribution limit from $5,500 to $10,000, retroactively to January 1, 2015. As a result, TFSA holders who have already contributed the old limit amount to their TFSA for 2015 can make additional contributions effective immediately without penalty.
RRIF
Starting the 2015 taxation year, the minimum withdrawal factors applicable to RRIF holders ages 71 to 94 will be reduced in order to allow them to keep more of the savings held in their RRIF.
