We were called to the scene of a medical clinic.

Reports of a funky smell, the air seemingly dense, the stains stubborn, all stemming from the culprit — the low pile carpets.

There was so much evidence, from salt stains, medical spills, ceiling leaks and other grime build-up.

How did we solve this crime?

Well, we extracted the carpets not once but twice using commercial-grade equipment and solvents. This clinic has been operating since 2013, and it wasn't until Up 2 Speed Cleaning showed up that the carpets were finally tackled.

It's whatever your cleaner sprays on it.

Quartzite and marble etch on contact with acid. Vinegar, lemon, half the sprays sitting under the sink.

I've been handed keys to clinics and pharmacies since 2019.

It's the part of this job I take most seriously. Not the floors — the fact that someone decided I could be in their space when they're not there.

So we don't hire fast. Every cleaner is background-checked before they're brought on, WHMIS trained before they touch a product, and covered under our insurance and WSIB from day one. If someone on my team is holding your key, I've vetted them myself.

Its been at least five years of no carpet cleaning other than vacuuming at this location.
Low pile carpet is built for heavy usage and it's durable. But after years of ceiling leaks, soap dispenser run-off and salt stains from harsh Canadian winters, it holds what a vacuum can't lift.

Two weekends of cleaning just to remove the stains, smell, embedded dirt and debris.

For clinic directors it's a hygiene problem.
