A visit from B.C. Premier David Eby and other government officials at our Lake Country division last week was an opportunity to reinforce the important role forestry plays in supporting jobs, communities, housing, and economic growth by highlighting just how connected our sector is.

The Premier presented Al and Brad Thorlakson with a 70th Anniversary plaque in recognition of Tolko’s longstanding contribution to B.C.’s forest sector – a meaningful moment that reflected not only our history, but also the pride, resilience, and commitment that continue to define Tolko today.

Tolko kicked-off its 70th anniversary celebrations today with a BBQ at the Vernon office.

It was a great chance to connect, reflect on our history and look ahead to what’s next. Thanks to everyone who helped organize the event, to the Executive team behind the grill and to those who joined to help make this a memorable start.

Alberta Forest Week is an annual event that highlights the environmental, economic, and social importance of Alberta’s forests. It’s also an opportunity to recognize the hundreds of provincial workers who support the industry by developing and producing innovative wood products for customers around the world.

Thank you to the Alberta Forest Products Association (AFPA) for the sweet treats that were shared and celebrated at Tolko’s High Prairie Division, along with our other Alberta-based sites.

From the forest to our mills and offices, the dedication, care and commitment of our people helps keep our operations strong, safe and sustainable.

On this National Day of Mourning, we pause to remember the workers who have lost their lives, been injured, or become ill from their job.

It reminds us of the serious impact this can have, but also the accountability we have in protecting ourselves and preventing serious injuries to others.

Safety is never an option. Remember: Arrive Safe, Work Safe and Go Home Safe. Nothing is more important.

Our team in High Prairie is committed to giving back to the community including a recent donation of used conveyor belts to the High Prairie Fire Department for use as training props.

We're proud to be part of the wonderful High Prairie community and so happy to help how we can!

A huge thank you to Tolko High Prairie for generously donating the used conveyor belt to our team. This will be put to great use in our training props, helping us enhance hands on learning and preparedness. We truly appreciate your support!
