The Heffley Creek Engineered Wood Division has reached a major milestone – pressing its first structural LVL beam. The achievement marks another step forward in Tolko's strategy to grow our engineered wood products business and expand the value we deliver to customers.

"Pressing our first LVL beam is a proud moment for everyone involved," says Travis Emel, Site Manager. "It's exciting to see the hard work of our team come to life and to reach a milestone that once existed only on paper."

Forestry communities across the Cariboo Chilcotin are facing significant challenges, including devastating wildfire impacts, fibre shortages, declining investment, and growing uncertainty for workers, families, and local businesses.

That urgency brought more than 60 leaders together at the recent Cariboo Chilcotin Forestry Forum to identify practical actions that can support healthy forests, sustainable jobs, strong communities, and a resilient regional forest economy.

Tolko was proud to collaborate with the City of Williams Lake, First Nations, local governments, industry partners, contractors, and community leaders to help build a more unified voice for forestry in the region.

A clear message emerged from the forum: the region needs timely, practical action to improve fibre access, support investment, build wildfire resilience, and help ensure forestry continues to provide jobs and economic opportunity for communities across the Cariboo Chilcotin.

Our team in High Prairie is proud to support the organizations that help make our community strong and we're grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a project that helps firefighters gain valuable hands-on training that contribute to our community safety. Thank you to the High Prairie Fire Department for everything you do.

Another Incredible Community Donation!

The High Prairie Fire Department continues to be humbled by the outstanding support from our local businesses.

A huge thank you to Tolko High Prairie for their generous donation of two lifts of OSB to assist with the continued upgrades to our training facility.

This material will be used to build training props and support other projects throughout the training grounds, helping us provide realistic, hands on training for our members and members from other fire departments outside our response area.

With the training facility upgrades estimated at approximately $100,000, donations like this make a tremendous difference by helping reduce costs while allowing us to continue expanding and improving our training capabilities.

Community partnerships like these are invaluable, and we are truly grateful for Tolko High Prairie's continued commitment to helping us build a stronger, safer fire service.

Tolko was pleased to welcome Mayor Victor Cu***ng, CAO Carey Herd, and Senior Manager of Partnerships and Innovation, Jared Ens Rempel from the City of Vernon to our Armstrong mill.

The visit provided an opportunity to reflect on the company’s 70-year history, discuss regional priorities, and reinforced the importance of our continued collaboration to support local jobs, enable a sustainable forest industry and build strong communities.
