One of my favourite things about teaching is working with artists who never stop being curious.

This advanced one-to-one nail art training day was filled with different techniques, textures, finishes, and design elements, but what stands out to me most isn't the work itself. It's the decision to keep learning.

It takes a certain kind of artist to look at the work they're already creating and still ask, "What else can I improve? What else can I learn?" Those are the artists who continue to evolve, not because they have to, but because they're passionate about their craft and want to stay inspired by it.

Education isn't always about adding another service or another certificate to the wall. Sometimes it's simply about creating space to challenge yourself, spark new ideas, and fall in love with your artistry all over again.

Days like this are a reminder that growth doesn't happen by accident. It happens when you choose to invest in yourself, stay open to learning, and keep raising the standard of what's possible.

We spend so much time focusing on the numbers that we forget every number represents a real person.

A like is someone who paused long enough to connect with what you shared. A comment is someone who felt compelled to join the conversation. A share is someone who thought your message was worth passing on.

It's easy to feel discouraged when you're comparing your results to someone else's highlight reel. What if instead of asking why the numbers aren't bigger, we started appreciating the people who are already choosing to engage?

Growth becomes a lot more enjoyable when gratitude replaces comparison.

The people who are meant to find your message will find it. Keep showing up.

I’ve been reflecting a lot lately on what success actually means to me.

Of course growth matters and building something meaningful matters too, but the older I get, the more I realize the biggest part of all of this has always been the people.

The conversations. The trust. The clients who have stayed for years. The students who believed in me enough to learn from me. The people who support what I do, speak highly of my business, recommend me to others, and continue growing alongside me.

I’ve always wanted the space I create to feel welcoming and genuine. Somewhere people feel seen and comfortable showing up exactly as they are while still feeling inspired to grow.

This recognition of the standards I hold in customer service and community impact mean so much to me because behind them are real relationships and years of pouring myself into what I do. There have been beautiful moments behind that, but also exhausting ones. Moments of confidence and moments where I questioned myself completely while still continuing to move forward anyway.

Winning these awards for three years now is something I honestly don’t take lightly. In an industry where people have endless options, the fact that so many of you continue choosing, trusting, and supporting my business year after year means more to me than I could ever properly put into words.

I’m proud of what I’ve built, but even more grateful for the people who have been part of building it with me.

Community will always mean more to me than competition, and I’ll never stop being grateful for the people who continue to support, trust, and grow alongside me.

This weekend’s advanced Vancouver class with the Ecolift premium system was such a powerful reminder of how important it is to stay connected to education, collaboration, and artists who genuinely care about raising the standard of our industry. The conversations, the shared knowledge, the support in the room, and the willingness to continue learning is what pushes artistry forward.

It’s incredibly special to now be part of the educator team with Eco and help share this education alongside such talented mentors. Being in these spaces and contributing to the growth of other artists is something I’m deeply grateful for.

Watching Tina perform a Korean lash lift is a true example of mastery in action. She is constantly striving to refine technique, deepen understanding of the science, and push for continued evolution in product development and education. That level of passion and commitment is inspiring to witness and such an important part of what continues to elevate this industry.

One of the biggest parts of lash lifting is understanding that the “wow effect” doesn’t always come from going smaller or creating more curl. Sometimes the most impactful result comes from knowing when to step back and reassess the lash health, length, and overall balance of the lift.

This client actually requested a smaller shield this appointment because she wanted more drama. The interesting part is that her lashes had grown so much since her last visit that I actually needed to size UP from the previous appointment to create the result she was looking for. Had I gone smaller, her lashes would’ve curled too tightly into the brow bone and visually looked shorter instead of long, lifted, and soft.

You can see from the side profile how perfectly this shape follows her brow bone and allows the full length of the lashes to shine through. This is why understanding shield selection, lash growth, facial structure, and the science behind the lift matters so much more than following trends or simply doing what the client asks for without proper assessment.

The artistry is in knowing when to trust your professional judgement to create the best possible result.

I used to think success meant working harder, longer hours, and filling every available space in my schedule. What I’ve realized is that growth eventually asks for a different strategy, not just more effort.

This online business came into my life at a time where I already had something successful built. I wasn’t looking to walk away from the beauty industry. I was looking for a way to create more freedom, more options, and less pressure on my time while still doing work I genuinely love.

The biggest shift has been realizing that income doesn’t always have to be tied directly to how many hours you can physically work in a day. There’s something really powerful about building alongside people who want more for themselves too. More growth, more flexibility, more ownership over their future.

I love sets like this because they remind me that nails are supposed to be fun. Sometimes it’s not about neutrals or “timeless” choices, it’s about wearing something that makes you feel confident, playful, and a little extra in the best way.
