Beat the Okanagan heatwave! ☀️🌡️

𝟭. Hydrate early 💧 — Drink water consistently throughout the day before you even feel thirsty.

𝟮. ​Apply sunscreen 🧴 — Protect your skin; sunburns actually damage your body's ability to cool itself down.

𝟯. ​Shift your schedule 🌅 — Get outdoor chores or walks done during the cooler early mornings or late evenings.

𝟰. ​Dress light 👕 — Wear loose-fitting, light-colored, and breathable clothing to help your body stay cool.

𝟱. ​Protect the paws 🐾 — If the asphalt is too hot for the back of your hand, it's too hot for your dog's paws.

​𝟲. Eat light 🥗 — Opt for cold meals like salads, fruit, or smoothies so your body doesn't generate extra digestive heat.
