This morning I woke up and just couldn’t get the thoughts out of my head regarding how Canadians have raised over $7million within a week. Yet somehow, have not banded together for a cause that personally, I see as far more urgent. You wanna talk about Freedom? You wanna talk about human rights? Well, clean drinking water for everyone in this country seems like a pretty basic human right.
I went onto go fund me to start a fundraiser myself, but I found this one! Created one day ago by someone who clearly had the exact same thought. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

It’s a mood.
I love styling shelves, they can really set the tone for a space. There are endless options on how to style them, and offer continuous play.
I decided to style these shelves in a very minimalistic way, it was for staging, so allowing the shelf to not visually take over the entire room was an important factor.
When I’m styling for living though, I do favour styling with minimalism, allowing each piece to be placed with intention; creating space for all of the elements to shine on their own. I also loved that this shelf in particular was a mix of new items and old. I scoured homesense, value village, and my own apartment to create this mix.

A lot of us are stuck at home during these difficult times, and whether you are working from home or not, having a space where you can sit and work, draw, write, scroll social media etc. is really helpful. It can act as a place “to go” in your own home, to get some space (even if it’s within a 1 space). Don’t put too much pressure on yourselves to be “the most productive you’ve ever been,” these are hard times. This isn’t normal. Listen to yourself, your body, feel however you feel. If you need to sit and binge watch tv, do it. If you want to organize every space in your home, do that. We all have our own ways of dealing with this situation, and there is no “right” way to react. I’ve been going through both, one minute I’m building furniture and organizing, the next I feel exhausted and I’m watching tv all day. I know social media is only showing one half of that, so try to remember social media is the highlights. Not the whole truth.
Stay well out there everyone. Stay home if it is at all possible. Only spend time (physically) with those you live with. We can only control ourselves, let’s do our part. We will through this. 🤍🤍🤍

Dining Nook Dreams ✨

I absolutely LOVED this nook off of the living room. It’s so bright and airy with all of the windows, and a lot larger than it seems; at one point I actually had a couch in that space! I realllllly would have loved to have a built in bench seating in this space, but between budget and time restrictions, it just wasn’t possible. I ended up styling the dining in a very simple and classic way. We were able to upcycle the tulip table by giving it a couple coats of paint from white to black (thanks .greene 🖤). Also, adding a simple tinted glass vase from with some cotton branches from added a little organic touch to a modern space.

Collaborating on this kitchen design with .ca was so much fun! Creating a designer look on a budget was tough, but I absolutely love how it turned out! We really pushed ourselves to be creative and not be too “safe” with the design choices. The waterfall island countertop in a bold black LAMINATE (😱)and oversized light fixture were something I’ve never done before, and the high impact was totally worth it. It really reignited my creativity and excitement for trying new things when it comes to design and staging. I can’t wait for the next project!
