Love this! I love people but I process internally and I need my solitude. I have experienced time and again how much society and workplaces highly favour extroversion and there is very little room and quite frankly respect for people who don't take up as much space. Sometimes I can even dominate conversations if I like who I'm talking to and it's a welcoming space, but that takes time and I have to assess things first. I used to get frustrated with how I am, but am now comfortable with how I show up, and have come to relish the disregard that I'm even there. Soon enough when I show up it will be right for me and benefit others. You don't have to force every interaction in business and life. A lot of my clients appreciate my more deliberative style because they're so used to being talked at rather than conversed with and being led to their own answers by slowing things down.

Allegiance to the Queen as an optional oath in your employment, or to pass into the next level of your professional life is a necessary evolution in societies largest far-reaching structures like the legal system, to ensure diversity, equity, and Inclusion are 3 sustainable, integral pillars honored and practiced throughout its ranks instead of perfomative buzz words. As People of Colour have been so brutally colononized and continue to suffer abuses even as natural born citizens, if it is considered by that person taking the oath to be a further insult to pledge allegiance to the very embodiment of that abuse, we stand in agreement and support.

UCBLSA Official Statement on the Bar Admission Requirement of an Oath of Allegiance to the Queen. The BLSA will also be sending a letter to the Minister of Justice urging him to make the legislative amendments that will make the Oath to the Queeen optional.
