This week's randomly drawn winner of $150 is... Brooke!! 🎉

"I’m currently in grade 11 and participate in many sports that I thoroughly enjoy including soccer, rugby, baseball, boxing, volleyball, as well as the soccer and baseball academy they have at EMCS, and I also play for 4 different sports with my school school teams. Last year I received multiple awards for my sporting activities including the EMCS Freshman Athlete of the Year two years in a row, and most inspirational/Mvp for rugby, soccer, volleyball, and baseball.

Receiving this funding would allow for me to help out with the costs of my sporting activities including gas money, tournament hotels and costs, as well as sports equipment such as cleats. Sports equipment and sports in general are expensive so receiving this funding would definitely help to take some stress off of me and my parents."

We’re excited to announce the Remarkable Gives Foundation, a weekly $150 fund for Indigenous youth athletes and artists. 🎨🏀

Every week, one youth receives $150 to use however it helps them most — for sports equipment, art supplies, instruments, travel, or cultural projects. Recipients are selected randomly, and winners are announced on our social media.

"I’m a citizen of Tla’amin Nation (qathet, BC) and a Registered Nurse who has recently started working with my home community at Tla’amin Health. I’ve also begun becoming more involved with the Victoria Native Friendship Centre. I enjoy creative and artistic projects that involve food and sharing with others, especially baking. Baking is something that helps me relax and unwind, and I love being able to share what I make with others. I’d love to use the support to continue creating baked goods and sharing them within my community in ways that bring people together."
