About the Position
Victoria Professionals Business Consulting is seeking a motivated and analytical Business Development Officer to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.
The Business Development Officer will conduct market and industry research, assess business and commercial opportunities, develop growth strategies, support business planning, provide business-development advisory services, engage relevant stakeholders, and prepare professional reports and recommendations for VPBC management and clients.
Job Responsibilities
• Conduct market and industry research to analyze market conditions, industry trends, competitors, target clients, customer needs, and emerging opportunities relevant to VPBC and its business clients.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret market, competitor, customer, and industry information and prepare market research reports, research summaries, presentations, and strategic recommendations for management and clients.
• Assess new business, expansion, market-entry, and commercial opportunities by evaluating market demand, competitive conditions, growth potential, client requirements, and business viability, and recommend appropriate business-development approaches.
• Provide business-development support to entrepreneurs and clients concerning business planning, business registration, licensing requirements, market-entry considerations, and procedures associated with relevant government or regulatory approvals.
• Develop and review business plans and operational plans for new and existing businesses, including business objectives, target markets, service strategies, growth opportunities, implementation priorities, and performance considerations.
• Identify and engage relevant clients, business partners, professional organizations, community stakeholders, and plan and coordinate business-development initiatives by establishing project objectives, activities, timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder requirements.
Required Qualifications
• A university degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Public Administration, Management, Communications, or another related discipline is preferred.
• Experience in preparing market research reports, business plans, proposals, presentations, strategic recommendations, or client advisory documents is considered an asset.

• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaboratively with clients and team members; and
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other business productivity tools.
The employee must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Compensation and Benefits
• Salary: $37.00–$40.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week
