Meet Jody Bauche (she/her) | Event Panelist. Jody’s passion for community arts comes from her longstanding career in social work where she specialized in community development.

Jody is a Métis woman who has been fortunate enough to benefit from the abundance she has found as a guest on Lekwugen land and is most grateful for the relationships she has made with Indigenous people here.

Jody is completing a master’s degree in communication at SFU where she is about to launch a project for social change. This project, the Culture Den Society, was incorporated in March 2021 and is focused on building an Indigenous-led community arts organization, committed to creating space for multicultural, multigenerational, transformative, and accessible arts and learning.

The Culture Den Society is currently moving into another production phase for a live performance at the Belfry Theatre in May 2024. The photos provided are from 'Bury the Hatchet’ a Lindsay Delaronde performance, the first live production produced by the Culture Den society in May 2022, thanks to the Belfry Theatre.

As one of our panelists, she will be discussing the opportunities, challenges, and impact of the Arts in Greater Victoria.
