I’ve worked with hundreds of leaders over the years, and you know what I’ve noticed? The ones who inspire lasting loyalty and great performance aren’t always the smartest or most experienced — they’re the ones who really get people. That’s emotional intelligence at work.
Here’s what I see emotionally intelligent leaders doing differently:
They pause before reacting — even when under pressure.
They make people feel seen and valued.
They lead with calm confidence, not ego.
It’s amazing how much culture shifts when a leader does this. Have you experienced a leader like that?
