Opinion: " Gundlach Says.."

Pullback buy level If gold falls below $3,500, he would "buy heavily."

Initial entry zone Reports say he sees $4,100 to $4,200 as an initial entry target.

Dip near $4,400 "At this level, I think it's a very good opportunity to add to gold and to add to commodities." That came after gold fell roughly 14% from its January peak.

Position size He has said a 25% weighting in gold "is not excessive," calling it an insurance policy.

Why he buys dips, not strength

His thesis hasn't changed. He frames gold as a hedge against dollar weakness and inflation. A price drop doesn't break that case, so it just means a cheaper entry.

He treats dips as accumulation opportunities. One summary of his view says he sees pullbacks as buying chances, not reasons to step back.

Price vs. his targets. He was less enthusiastic when gold ran far past his $4,000 target.

He said last year's rally exceeded his enthusiasm, and the dip back near his original forecast looked like value.

That sits inside the $4,100–$4,200 entry zone he reportedly flagged, and well above his $3,500 "buy heavily" level.
If anything, today's price lines up with his dip-buying stance, not a case for chasing strength.

If you want a version of "buy more as it rises," the closest idea is momentum or breakout confirmation.

Some analysts say a close above $4,400 with falling yields would signal an attempt at $4,700.

That's those analysts' view, not Gundlach's.
