Innovation doesn’t always show up on the outside.
Inside many manufacturing and industrial companies, technology advances, operations become more efficient, capabilities expand, and teams develop deeper expertise. But the brand, website and marketing can still tell a story from 10 years ago.
Here are three things you can do to start modernizing:
1 - Look at your digital presence through your buyer’s eyes. Can an engineer, contractor, distributor or procurement team quickly understand what you do and why you’re different? Does your website showcase your capabilities, expertise and applications - or simply list products and services?
2 - Revisit your positioning. Why should a customer choose you over another supplier or manufacturer? Is it your technical expertise? Service? Quality? Speed? Innovation? Your positioning, messaging and value proposition should make that difference clear.
3 - Connect marketing to the rest of the business. Your marketing strategy shouldn’t operate in isolation. It should support your sales process, operational capabilities and growth priorities - from entering new markets and reaching specifiers to strengthening distributor relationships and generating qualified opportunities.
These are just a few places to start.
At Blox, we’ve developed practical frameworks to help manufacturing and industrial companies identify gaps, modernize their go-to-market approach, and communicate the value they’ve already built more effectively.
Because sometimes the business doesn’t need to reinvent itself.
It just needs the outside to catch up with the inside.
