One thing I was surprised to learn while working from home…

I MISS PEOPLE!

I miss working in person with people.

I miss meeting someone at an event and hitting it off.

I miss reaching out to a biz contact to grab a coffee and chat.

There’s something so pure about making a connection in person, especially when it comes to business.

It makes me feel like I’ve been living under a rock these last few years, and honestly, maybe I was 🙃

So, during a coaching call with a dear friend of mine, I voiced my want to be around people, and further embrace my community, and we began to brainstorm ways to fulfil that within Lunar.

There’s nothing I love more than a list, and ticking things off of that list, so I immediately started figuring out timelines and plans to make some of these ideas become a reality.

One of the ideas I’m most excited about, I needed some help with, so I called my girl Friday

Honestly, probably no one listens to my crazy ideas more than Jenn, so I was ecstatic when she said, “Let’s do it!”

And the planning began for brand mini photography sessions!

If you’re in the South Western Ontario region, own a business and want to grab at the opportunity of getting some fresh photography for your business, this is your chance! Anything from head shots, lifestyle, and product photography!

Okay, so you’re building an e-commerce site and are ready to sell your stuff…

Here’s 6 things things to consider when building out your product pages:

👉 Clear images or videos of the products

Whether it’s DIY or pro photography, try getting both close-ups of the product and shots of the product in use. This is will not only show off the quality of the physical product but also allows the buyer to see the fit, size and general styling of the product.

👉 An honest description of what’s included

All of the product details someone buying should know and/or expect to receive. Materials used, size or measurements of the product, warranty info (if applicable), return policy link, shopping policy link, etc.

👉 Benefits of the product and how to use it

How will this product impact their end users life. Whether that’s by helping the environment, giving a percentage of sale to charity, how they’ll be able to curate their desired image with the product. You can also use the time to answer frequently asked questions about the product and its uses.

👉 Suggestions for similar products

Help your customers find more options of what they might be seeking or give suggestions on what to pair the current product with. Make it easy for the buyer to find what they’re looking for.

👉 Reviews or in practice use of the product

The proof is in the pudding. Show off why people love your brand and/or this product, display more images of actual customers using or wearing the product and/or where buyers can find trusted sources for information (aka ‘as seen in’ or links to blog articles, etc.).

👉 Tell them why they should trust you

Give customers even more info about the brand behind the product. What are your values, how do you want them to feel about using your products, what’s your mission and how can they connect to what you do.

I took a step back and then all of a sudden 5 months went by…

Throughout the last few months, I’ve wanted to get back into posting on social media, but just couldn’t find the motivation (you know?)

The motivation to channel my values into something creative for my business, write something worth reading, design something nice to look at, scroll through literally anything and engage authentically.

So, I decided it was best to just take a beat.

And use that time to get over the expectations that, somewhere along the journey of starting the business, I had unconsciously put on myself.

Expectations like, I need to be posting x many times a week, I need to be relating to my audience, I need to be making x amount of money, I need to be perfect, I need, I need, I need.

I turned my passion into my full-time job and just dove head first into the work part but forgot to enjoy it along the way.

I’ve been working with a life and business coach for the last few months, and after a few meaningful sessions, saw some light at the end of the tunnel and after a lot of reflection (and homework!), was able to *partially* shed the skin of the expectations I had built up around me, and just… well, be.

So, I guess that means, I’m back?!

Back to posting on the semi-reg at least, and feeling some form of motivation to put myself out there again with honesty, clarity and as much value for you as possible.

Styrofoam isn’t cute 📦 so here’s some eco-friendly packaging trends we’re really loving right now

1️⃣ Kraft materials

Just like leaves off a tree, Kraft material decomposes naturally within just a few weeks, leaves little to no impact and can be reused.

2️⃣ Reusable assets

Including elements in your overall packaging that customers can keep and reuse is a really great way to offer lifetime brand awareness.

3️⃣ Mushrooms (Mycelium)

Mycelium is incredibly durable, insulating and flame resistant. It can take on any form and can substitute things like styrofoam and plastic.

4️⃣ Cotton paper

Recycled cotton paper has a soft, subtle texture. Colours printed on cotton paper are richer and have a crisp, clear quality.

5️⃣ Reusing materials

Reusing recyclable material or offering a discount for cleaning and returning vessels is one of our fav options.

What conscious brands do you love the packaging for? Or what are other packaging trends you’re digging right now? Let us know 👇

Mailer packaging design for an ethically sourced bath brand 📦

The organic and hand-drawn elements for the tissue paper, the motivational and impactful copy on both the inside and outside of the box, the shapes, the feeling, all align with the overall self-care experience aims to provide.

Every little piece so intentional, calming and empowering.
