So grateful our landlords saw potential in this building years ago and took a chance on it! Our community of entrepreneurs and remote professionals love the building, the community and the whole vibe out here. You guys absolutely nailed it, and we are so grateful!

ANSWER: your local coworking space.

Yes you need to get out of your house once in a while.
Yes you need somewhere to focus where food, and laundry, and dishes (and Netflix?) aren’t distracting you.

But in our opinion, more than anything else, you need the right people around you.

The kind of people who are also goal oriented, pushing themselves daily, and actively building.

And they’re in coworking spaces -

Jumping on calls
Meeting clients
Collaborating with partners
Asking all the good questions at the water cooler
Brainstorming on the whiteboard

They won’t let you forget your genius, your potential, and what you came here to create.

They’ll hold your feet to the fire, but also support and cheer you on (even if you just met).

Because other people who are also “in the arena” just get it.

Huge thank you to everyone who made it to last night’s 7th bday party for Groundswell Coworking 🍻🎉

The team at Wishbone Brewing Company were fantastic hosts as ALWAYS - thank you all!

And another big thank you for all the messages, emails, texts and chats over the past week or so, too.

Feels great to take a minute and consider all that it took to get here, and to look around the room at all the people I now call friends, who I would have never met if it weren’t for this coworking space and the delusion that prompted me to start it in the first place LOL

I made a lot of mistakes since this pic was taken 7 years ago!

And I’m still paying for some of them.

Here’s what they don’t tell you:

Starting your own business is the craziest and most intense personal development journey you didn’t know you signed up for 😅

There’s no one to blame - no boss, no coworkers.

It’s all on you whether things go well or totally tank.

For a lot of these years I felt so ashamed that I couldn’t “figure it out” faster.

I was doing what I loved.

I was good at it!

And yet I felt like I was being punished financially, sometimes putting cash IN instead of taking any out. Just to keep the business going.

One of the BIGGEST lessons I had to learn?

Was to love myself.

I know, I know.

Sounds cornball.

But nothing can MOVE from a place of shame - you just keep staying stuck in it.

From LOVE, I could access clarity.

From clarity, I could make decisions.

From decisions, I could make a plan.

And from a plan, I could start MOVING.

Knowing I’m heading where I want to go and not spinning in circles anymore.

So if you’re in the “stuck” or “spinning in circles” part - know that your failures are not reasons to hate yourself or hide.

They are part of the journey! There is actually no journey without them. And when you choose to love yourself instead, you start to see what those failures were teaching you.

And you can move forward with this new knowledge, new insight and new clarity.

So really - you’re already winning.

Because you either hit the goal or you learn something that gets you closer.

Just. Don’t. Quit.
