Artemis goes Alberta

We’re excited to announce that we’ve officially launched an Alberta presence!
Carly Livingstone has been a valuable member of our Toronto-based team for 3 years. Originally from Edmonton, she has officially moved home to launch our very first Alberta office (though, for the record, we already partner with clients all over Western Canada!).

Why’d she make the move?
“I’ve been immersed in the Toronto and Waterloo tech ecosystem for the past 3 years. During that time, I’ve followed the evolution of Alberta’s tech scene. I’ve watched Alberta take up more space in Canadian tech news coverage, funding announcements, and events. I’ve also spoken with many leaders in big Canadian tech hubs who would consider an opportunity in Alberta. We are so uniquely positioned with the affordability of our cities, our access to mountains and river valleys, our lifestyle (a little less rat-race, a little more balance), and at the same time, incredible opportunities to grow your career in tech.

We’re strategically positioned from an innovation perspective, too. Energy, climate, food and ag-tech, and health-tech are all domains with challenges that Alberta is well-situated to tackle, and they’re high-impact missions that leaders are keen to be a part of. One of the biggest recruiting trends out of the pandemic was a shift in motivations. Leaders across the org chart don’t just want autonomy, growth, flexibility, and competitive pay. They want a mission they can get behind. It doesn’t hurt either that more and more of our VC partners are looking to invest in these domains!

🚨 New Opportunity! 🚨

Planitar is a hardware & software scale-up in Waterloo known for iGuide, their proprietary camera system that combines images & Lidar measurements to create immersive 3D tours of physical spaces. (You know those amazing 3D tours of homes for sale? That's the one!)

We're helping them find a Product Manager to lead their cloud services. They're expanding their technology into 2 new markets and need a 'been there, done that' product manager to support their expansion in residential real estate + their expansion in new markets. You'd lead the product for their portal, end-user viewer, and mobile.

New search launched! First Acre Insurance is a startup founded in 2021 that is set to launch its first product offering this Fall! Their focus is on revolutionizing the agriculture insurance industry in Canada by offering comprehensive insurance solutions for farms. They are modernizing the entire insurance process, including land and equipment surveys, tracking, and utilization of sensors and data. This will provide farmers with customized and digitally supported insurance options (at last!).

With a small but powerful team, First Acre is ready to bring on a Head of Technology! We're looking for a great collaborator & technical counterpart to drive the company's technical strategy and ex*****on. The role involves enhancing the company's technical strategy, approach to data, security, evaluating and implementing new systems and features, vendor relationship management, and participating in product development.
