Hire a Project Coordinator

First Kaska is the economic development corporation of the Liard First Nation. Located in Watson Lake, Yukon, First Kaska provides a range of construction, transportation and energy services to the public and private sector. Its mandate is to stimulate and sustain the local economy, provide jobs and training to Liard First Nations members, and encourage local investment in Watson Lake. First Kaska currently operates seven divisions.

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Project Coordinator located in Watson Lake, Yukon. The Project Coordinator will assist in the management of construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that they meet all specifications, requirements, and timelines. The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Project/Operations Manager, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Qualifications
Project management skills, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and building codes.
Understanding of project budgets, financial forecasting, and risk management.
Technical proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
Construction Engineering Technology (CET) or equivalent experience in construction management, engineering, or related fields.
Experience in managing construction projects, preferably in multifamily & commercial.
Certifications in project management or construction management are an asset.

First Kaska Announces Major Solar Farm $29.9 Million Project.

First Kaska is thrilled to announce that we have secured $29.9 million to develop a state-of-the-art 5 MW megawatt solar farm within our community. This transformative project was made possible through the dedicated collaboration of the Liard First Nation, the federal and territorial governments, and the Watson Lake municipality.

This solar farm project is the successful result of the great work that First Kaska leadership has carried out for over three years and marks a significant step toward advancing renewable energy infrastructure, creating sustainable opportunities, and reinforcing our commitment to environmental stewardship and community development.

We extend our gratitude to all partners who contributed to making this initiative a reality and look forward to the positive impact it will have on our community and the region.
