📣 We are incredibly thrilled to announce that Prince Edward County Council has approved:
✔ the municipality’s first Public Art Plan
âś” the funding and creation of a public art program for Prince Edward County!
💫 The Plan, developed by County Arts in collaboration with the municipality, provides a community-informed vision for public art in Prince Edward County, and details a roadmap for developing and implementing the municipality’s first public art program. Visit countyarts.ca/engage for links to the Plan, Committee of the Whole presentation and discussion, and more.
🎉 AND: the municipality will be entering into a three-year partnership agreement with County Arts to develop and lead the implementation of the program!
â–¶ This planning process gave voice to a strong will and desire - from community members and the municipality alike - to bring more public art and all of its benefits to Prince Edward County. We thank the municipality for this investment, and their collaborative spirit throughout this process.
🙏 We want to sincerely thank the hundreds of community members who helped shape this inaugural vision for art in our public spaces! Thank you to everyone who participated in our Public Art Walks, shared your perspectives with us during events, focus groups, surveys, interviews, and more, from Milford to Consecon and everywhere in between!
✨ It was an honour to be entrusted with this initiative. We can’t wait to work with artists and our vibrant creative community to catalyze public art initiatives that welcome, enrich, and inspire residents; showcase artistic excellence; and create opportunities to respectfully discover and celebrate all of our stories.
