Today, we pause to reflect on the truths of Canada’s history and to honour the resilience, strength, and cultures of Indigenous Peoples.
As a company, we are committed to listening, learning, and building meaningful relationships with our Indigenous partners and communities. This day is a reminder of our shared responsibility to walk the path of reconciliation together.
Across our communities, there are opportunities to gather, listen, and learn. Here are some of the events happening near our locations:
🌿 Revelstoke
Walk & Gathering hosted by the Indigenous Friendship Society of Revelstoke | Meet 12:15 p.m. at Cascadia Credit Union Parking Lot, walk at 12:30 p.m. | Food & Gathering at Centennial Park, Circle at 2:15 p.m.
🌿 Enderby / Vernon / Salmon Arm
Enderby: Walk & Gathering at 10:00 a.m. from the Chamber of Commerce to Splatsin Community Centre
Vernon: Community Walk hosted by the Okanagan Indian Band at Komasket Park
Salmon Arm: Memorial Walk & Family Gathering from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., starting at ALIB and ending at Wilson Park
🌿 Kelowna & Area
Kelowna: Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society March & Gathering at 10:00 a.m., followed by a vigil, soup & bannock, and youth essay awards
Okanagan Heritage Museum: Open 1:00–4:00 p.m. for reflection and conversation
sncəwips Heritage Museum (Westbank First Nation): Guest speaker at 11:00 a.m. and afternoon storytelling
Métis Community Services (Kelowna): Drumming, storytelling, to***co tie making, and healing activities
Penticton: Walk for Reconciliation, 2 km from Safeway Parking Lot to the SIRS Monument, with lunch to follow
