Since the 60’s it has been Sarwan Gidda’s dream to grow grapes that would produce world class wines. This all began when his father, Mehtab Gidda, came to Canada from a small town in East Punjab, India. With only five dollars in his pocket and not a single word of English, the dream of a better life began in 1958 when he settled in the “Land of Wonder” (The Okanagan Valley). His wife Harjet and three sons arrived two years later. They were the first and only Indo-Canadian family in Westbank for 15 years. The family purchased their first property in 1963 and before long were the largest apple farmers in Westbank. In 1978 Sarwan and wife Sudarshana pursued a new venture of growing grapes. Today the 90 acres of grapes, apples and cherries are still managed by Sarwan. In May 2010 the children fulfilled their father’s dream of establishing a winery. You will find Christina, Bobby, or Amit hard at work in the wine shop every day. They hope your next visit will be one to remember. Open year round, try award winning wines erupting with flavour!

As another harvest unfolds, we’re reminded of just how much there is to be thankful for. The land we farm, the people who make it all possible, and the friends and family who gather around our w**es.

The perfect cosy meal for cooler evenings. Creamy mushroom sauce, pillowy gnocchi and toasted walnuts, best enjoyed with a glass of our Pinot Noir.

You’ll need:
• 500 g gnocchi
• 2 medium shallots
• 2 garlic cloves, minced
• 1 cup each of sliced cremini and oyster mushrooms
• ½ cup dried mixed wild mushrooms
• 1 cup beef stock
• 2 tbsp cornstarch
• ½ cup Volcanic Hills Pinot Noir
• ¾ cup heavy cream
• 1½ cups freshly grated Grana Padano or Parmigiano-Reggiano
• 5 sprigs fresh thyme, leaves removed
• 2 cups fresh spinach
• ¼ cup crushed walnuts
• Pepper to taste
